Maverick Advocaten successful in ending ACM investigation into dropshipping company

Cyriel Ruers successfully assisted a dropshipping company in the process of ending an investigation by the Authority for Consumers and Markets ("ACM") into alleged unfair commercial practices. This e-commerce company operated a successful Dutch webshop, based on a dropship model. This led to a large number of consumer complaints about order fulfillment, including long delivery times. This prompted the ACM to launch an investigation into possible violations of the Unfair Commercial Practices Act. Maverick Advocaten assisted the company in question in communicating with the ACM, after which the ACM waived further enforcement.

Maverick Advocaten regularly assists companies in investigations by the ACM into alleged violations of consumer rules (misleading commercial practices) and competition law. For example, Maverick Advocaten assisted a sports retail chain during an ACM investigation into greenwashing (see here).
